The safe arrival programme at Gordon is only for students who walk themselves to school.
How Safe Arrival Works: If your child is on the program, and your child does not arrive at school, you will be called. Parent volunteers check the attendance and call parents between 9 and 9:30am.
There are two ways of participating in the safe arrival programme:
-
If your child walks themselves to school every day, you can register them for the safe arrival programme - fill out the Registration form and return to the PAC box in the office.
If your child is in the programme and they are late to school (after attendance is taken in the classroom) they must sign in the late book in the office. If your child does not come to school because you are away or they are sick, you must call the school, using the safe arrival number (604) 713-6000 extension 2880. If you repeatedly fail to sign in late, or call in absent, your child will be removed from the programme.
-
If your child occasionally walks themselves to school, they can be in the programme for just that day.
Call the safe arrival program on that day, (604) 713-6000 extension 2880. Leave a message with your child's name, division, and a phone number that you can be reached at that morning.
If you are a parent able to volunteer for Safe Arrival once or twice a month from 9-9:30am, please fill out the volunteer part of the Registration form and return to the PAC box in the office.
